The music video that we chose is Devlin - Runaway. The duration of this video is 3 minutes and 39 seconds. We decided that the audience would most likely be 15-24 year olds that have interest in hop hop and grime. We also thought that males would be the main audience. We thought that the technical aspects were similar to Kanye West’s video Homecoming, which has inspired us to do our video like his. Therefore we can use the camera work from both videos and the editing from Kanye Wests to make our video. We also think that this song choice will illustrate well and connect lyrics to visual. The name of the song Runaway gives the video away to the audience so they know what to expect (someone running away). Whilst planning our music video we took into consideration details such as performance, costumes, effects and key locations. We came to a decision to set our music video in Manchester, using quiet streets aswell as busy streets parks and buses for different parts in our video. We will use different locations within Manchester to give a different atmosphere and look to the video such as a train station which also gives illustraion to the video and tells a story. Other locations we chose was a member of the groups house, for a certian part in the video. The costumes chosen for our music video is casual wear, as the video/song Runaway is based on everyday situations and everyday people for example people will be wearing jeans and a tshirt. The effects and editing we have in mind for our music video include aspects from Kanye Wests video Homecoming. We decided this because the editing skills used in Homecoming will make our film look more intersting as our videos performance is very basic. For our performance we chose to match lyrics and visual therefore we will have a boy running away from home and the relationship with his girlfriend which will all be shown during the video. The boy is then running down various streets and locations at different parts of the day. Whilst planning our music video we estimated that the number of recording day needed will be about 3 or 4.
